Proprietors Rhonda Weimer and Ellen Underkoffler want to welcome
you to our home and our dream – The Porch Swing Inn!
Rhonda grew up in Colorado
and Missouri. She remained in the Kansas City area after completing
her masters degree in social work at Kansas University to
start up her psychotherapy private practice. Rhonda’s dream
of opening a bed and breakfast began to take hold when a majestic
Victorian home on 7th Street in Parkville, MO went up for
sale. After more than a year of remodeling, Rhonda’s is excited to put
down the hammer and pickup the spatula. She finally has time
for her love of cooking and gardening and she hopes you will
feel at home at The Porch Swing Inn!
Ellen was born in Virginia, grew
up in Delaware (of all places!) and did stints in the DC
area, South Carolina, and North Carolina, then this east coast
girl packed up and moved west to Kansas City! Ellen was a geologist
working in the environmental consulting business. Over the
year long remodeling project Ellen found that the woodshop
class she took in high school came in quite handy. Though
her love of outdoor photography wasn’t quite as helpful, her
photographs documenting the remodeling process will bring
back many fond, and some not so fond memories!
Greta, our resident Weimeraner
is 100% puppy love. She loves everyone (though Emma does bug
her sometimes!) and is looking forward
to all the attention she plans on convincing the guests she
needs.
Emma, our resident Weimeraner puppy. She loves Greta and
biting everything in site. Puppies, they're sooooo cute
(when they're sleeping!).
Bartholomew, is a Lynx-point
Siamese. A most proper Siamese at that. Life is good for Barth. Spoiled-rotten
might be too strong a word, but probably not!
Harley, is a calico who is both tough and sweet (as per
her namesake!). She enjoys helping people read the newspaper
and harassing her brother.
